Current progress: An abstract has been created and shared between myself and my immediate collaborators. At this point, we know what we're doing and now need only to DO it.
We will each be composing the equivalent of a college level thesis using multimedia tools both about and directly representing the past, current, and future state of education on a local to international scale.
Our intentions are multi pronged. We hope to educate. We hope to demonstrate the capabilities of the new guard, to show what a few teenage students on their computers can accomplished with practically no physical artifacts and only each other as consultants. We want to create an alternate academia that has no single place; we are at home on a campus, a LAN party, or actually at home.

Le Big Question
What does it mean to be a functioning member of society? What is the nature of individuals' relationship to society in 21st century America? How has that grown since the nation's inception, and before? Is this traditional of other societies or is it unique, and how does it compare?
4/16/12 - I've thought a lot about this question, questions in general. What I was getting at was simple enough in my head. I want to explore the concept of fitting in. The existential relationship between the individual and the conglomerate.
This is subject to change... it does every time I think about it. To be honest I hadn't the slightest idea that our project would be relate to my Big Question research, and I don't think it necessarily has to. I'm excited to see where this goes...

To Facebook or Not to Facebook?
At first I resented Facebook and the trend of social networking as whole, because I saw it as vapid and self-indulgent. However, as I yearn for the mental release those things bestow, I see the merit of such communities. It suffers from risks though, although they're more abstract than the benefits. The selling of personal data infringes upon or privacy, which consumes dignity, a precious resource.
